2018 Alabama Legal Food Frenzy
A team fundraising campaign for Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.
About This Campaign
More than one in four children in Alabama come from families that experience food hardships. Alabama’s eight regional food banks distributed more than 50 million pounds of food last year through their network of more than 1,500 partner agencies and pantries. And the need continues to grow. Food donations are traditionally slow in late spring and early summer as families focus on end-of-school activities and summer vacations. Food Banks and their agencies see the demand for food increase during this time as the 390,000 children who depend on access to breakfast and lunch at school are home for the summer months. Only 15% of children who receive free or reduced lunches during the school year have access to summer meal programs.
In response to these challenges, in 2018 the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, the Alabama State Bar and the Alabama Food Bank Association will join together to help end child hunger with the launch of the Alabama Legal Food Frenzy set for April 23 – May 4, 2018. Law firms across the state will compete to see who can raise the most food and funds for the eight regional food banks in Alabama.

Campaign to Support Community Food Bank of Central Alabama
The Community Food Bank of Central Alabama’s mission is to feed people in need today and foster collaborative solutions to end hunger tomorrow. We accomplish this mission by supplying 11 million meals a year to 230 food pantries, shelters and children’s programs in 12 counties of Central Alabama.
We also create healthy food access by feeding children at risk of hunger during school breaks, delivering fresh produce to residents living in isolated communities and providing food to under-nourished mothers of critically ill infants through on-site hospital food pantries.
